Move every exam, lose nothing

Items, history and statistics moved, then counted against the source.

Length
12 weeks
Price, indicative
From $6,500

Migrations fail quietly. An item loses its review history, a tag lands in the wrong domain, and nobody notices until a form comes up short. This program counts everything twice: once on export and once on arrival.

How the twelve weeks run

  1. Weeks 1 and 2

    Inventory the source

A kickoff, then a count of exams, items, media, tags and statistics in your current system.

  2. Weeks 3 and 4

    Map the tags

Old fields and domains matched to blueprint tags, then signed off by your exam lead.

  3. Weeks 5 to 7

    Import in batches

Items, media and history imported exam by exam, each batch checked against the source count.

  4. Weeks 8 to 10

    Run in parallel

A live window on Exampit with the old system still on; a sample rescored on both.

  5. Weeks 11 and 12

    Reconcile and switch

The reconciliation report, your written sign-off, then the old system set to read-only.

What you receive

Who it is for
Programs moving five or more exams or a whole item bank
Format
Online, with your current system kept running in parallel
  • Every item imported with tags, media, version history and review status
  • A tag map from your old fields to blueprint domains, signed off
  • Item statistics carried over wherever your current system can export them
  • A parallel-run comparison of scores from both systems
  • A reconciliation report: item counts in and out, statistics carried, anything left behind

Is this the right program?

Right for you if

  • You are moving five or more exams, or a bank of several thousand items
  • Your current system exports QTI, CSV or a database extract
  • Your current contract ends in four to nine months

Look elsewhere if

  • You are moving one exam; Exam Launch is shorter and costs less
  • You want old items rewritten, not moved; ask about an Item Writing Workshop

Example: a property management association’s seven exams

A property management association runs seven credential exams on a legacy system, with 3,800 items and eight years of statistics. Over twelve weeks the bank moves across, the fall window runs on Exampit while the old system stays available, and the reconciliation report lists 41 retired items left behind on purpose.

Platform Migration questions, answered

What if our current system will not export everything?

Then the reconciliation report says so, item by item. Most systems export items and media as QTI or CSV, while history and statistics vary. Where an export is missing, we work from database extracts or downloadable reports, and anything still out of reach is listed with its count and a recommendation.

How does the parallel run work?

One live window runs on Exampit while your current system stays switched on as a fallback. We rescore a sample of responses on both systems and compare the results, so any scoring difference shows up before you retire the old platform. You choose how long it stays read-only afterward.

Is the platform subscription included in the price?

No. The $6,500 fee covers the migration work; the online testing platform is separate, from $6,000 a year for up to 2,000 sessions. Both appear on the pricing page. Your fixed-fee proposal itemizes the migration by exam count, item volume and what your current system can export.

Will candidates notice the change?

They see a new login and a different look, and little else. We draft plain-language notices for you to send four weeks and one week before the switch. The candidate portal runs in English and Spanish, and accommodations are reapplied per candidate from your approval records, not retyped from memory.
