Who holds which credential, and until when

Applications, exams, badges and renewals kept on one record per holder.

A hand lifts one key from a tall wooden rack of numbered hooks.

Where credential records drift apart

Applications sit in a form tool, exam results in another system and expiry dates in a spreadsheet. An employer calls to check a holder, and staff search three places. A public registry page answers that call before it is made.

What each holder record keeps

  • Eligibility checked once

Education, experience and documents reviewed against your rules, with the reviewer named.

  • Credentials anyone can verify

Open Badges 3.0 credentials and a registry page for each holder, current the same day.

  • Renewals on schedule

Reminders at the intervals you set, with continuing education credits counted against your rules.

  • Impartiality kept visible

Roles separated by design, and conflicts of interest declared, logged and open to review.

What every account includes

  • Applications and eligibility

Online applications, document upload, review queues and decision letters for each route.

  • Exam scheduling link

Approved candidates book their exam on the testing platform, and results return to their record.

  • Digital credentials

Open Badges 3.0 credentials issued on a pass decision, with a PDF certificate alongside.

  • Public registry

A verification page per holder showing credential, status and expiry, searchable by name or number.

  • Recertification tracking

Cycles, CE credits, sample audits of submissions and lapse notices, tracked per holder.

  • Appeals log

Each appeal, its evidence, reviewer and outcome logged, with reviewers kept apart from the first decision.

Example: a security training firm’s credential

A Denver training company issues a three-year credential to about 1,500 network security technicians and tracks renewals in a spreadsheet. Each holder moves to one record, with an Open Badge on pass and a public registry page. Instructors lose access to exam items and pass decisions, and lapse notices go out 90, 60 and 30 days before expiry.

Indicative price

Indicative, from$4,000

Questions about credential records

Will using Exampit get us ISO/IEC 17024 or NCCA accreditation?

No. An accreditation body decides that after reviewing your whole program, not your software. The platform helps you build the evidence: separated roles, logged decisions, conflict of interest declarations, an appeals log and records you can export for an assessor. Accreditation Readiness is the program for preparing an application.

How does the public registry work?

Each holder has a verification page showing their name, credential, status and expiry date, and nothing more unless they choose to share it. Employers search by name or credential number. When a credential is renewed, suspended or lapses, the page changes the same day, and the holder’s Open Badges 3.0 credential shows the same status.

What is Open Badges 3.0?

Open Badges 3.0 is an open standard for digital credentials, published by 1EdTech, that anyone can check without contacting you. Each badge carries the credential name, the holder, issue and expiry dates and a link to your criteria. Holders can add it to a professional profile or a digital wallet.

Can holders log continuing education themselves?

Yes. Holders log continuing education activities in the candidate portal, in English or Spanish, and upload certificates, while approved providers can submit attendance in bulk. Credits count against your rules by category and cycle, and you can audit a random sample each cycle, with the reviewer and outcome kept on the holder’s record.

Can we move existing holders from a spreadsheet?

Yes. We import holders, credential dates, continuing education history and documents from CSV or your current system. Your implementation lead reconciles the counts with you, in writing, before the registry goes public. Holders then get an email inviting them to sign in and check their own record.
