Testing costs follow sessions, not seats. Enter how many people test, how often they sit, and how they are proctored, and see an indicative yearly figure from our published prices.
How the estimate works
The estimate counts sessions: one candidate sitting one exam once. Candidates a year times attempts each gives your session count, so a candidate who retakes an exam uses two sessions.
- Platform: from $6,000 a year, which covers up to 2,000 sessions.
- Extra sessions: each session over 2,000 adds $2.
- Record-and-review proctoring: $6 a session, with every flag reviewed by a trained person.
- Live proctoring: $18 a session, with up to six candidates per proctor.
- Automated grading: $3 per candidate per exam, if you add it.
- Discount: nonprofit, public and education programs receive 15 percent off platform fees, which are the annual fee and extra sessions. Proctoring and grading are not discounted.
A worked example
A state board tests 3,000 candidates a year, and on average each sits 1.2 times. That is 3,600 sessions. The platform costs $6,000 plus 1,600 extra sessions at $2, or $9,200. Record-and-review proctoring on every session adds $21,600, for $30,800 in all. As a public body, the board takes 15 percent off the $9,200, bringing the indicative total to $29,420.
What the estimate leaves out
The estimator prices the yearly running cost of delivery. It does not include one-time programs such as an Exam Launch from $4,800 or a Platform Migration from $6,500, psychometric work such as a Job Task Analysis, or certification management from $4,000 a year. On-site days in New Mexico carry no travel fee; elsewhere, travel is billed at cost.
